You may already be able to tell where this story is going, but I'll start from the beginning anyway. Here's a little background: Last week we took some bread and I got to throw it to the ducks and it was pretty neat. I called the ducks over because I can say duck really well and then I quacked like a duck (it goes a little something like "hwa, hwa, hwa"). And those ducks really ate up that bread. Earlier this week when we went to feed the ducks I brought some pitas to give them. Well, the ducks were no where to be seen. They did not even come over when I did my duck call. Here I am saying "Here duck duck duck!"
"You know you want some pita duck duck duck"
After awhile I gave up
I said "What am I supposed to do with all these pieces of stale pita?"
I decided to take them home. It was a bummer but Mom told me that maybe next time the ducks would be back. Today Mommy and I went to Campus Lake to meet Daddy for lunch. I once again brought some pitas to feed the ducks and was pleased to see that there were a whole bunch of ducks today! So Mommy was breaking off little pita pieces and she would hand them to me and I would throw them to the duckies. All was going well until I guess I was taking too long to throw the pita and those ducks must've been starving because one of them (a really big one I might add) came right up to me and took the pita right out of my hand AND in doing so he bit me right on my middle finger! Let me tell you what, those duck bills are hard! It hurt really bad. Mommy washed my hand in cold water and gave me kisses and hugs and made it all better (after a good minute of crying). She said that since the skin wasn't broken that I won't need any medicine. The duck looked something like this:
So if you see him and your hunting license is current, go ahead and get him for me okay?
Oh, you poor thing. You will have to have a long chat with your cousin Mike. He once was assaulted by a member of the bird family as well. A goose bit him on the butt. Your bite will heal, but you may not ever like ducks again. I will tell Dave to find that duck and take care of him for you. You can rest easy, Dave's on the case to get your duck.
ReplyDeleteGrampa I will gladly dispatch that obviously deranged animal asap, Do not worry little buddy. Also if you see any pheasants let me know, good eatin ask your Dad and Mom.
ReplyDeleteLittle birds are OK but stay away from ducks and geese...they are dirty and mean!!! Also be carefull around seagulls which are the rats of the bird world. G Ma L
ReplyDeleteBuddy, those ducks are vicious at the Campus Lake. They walk up all in a gang and everything.
