Not So Sure 'Bout This

We went to this place called the Apple Festival in nearby Murphysboro. I thought that it would be cool because for sure they would have some apples, some apple juice, perhaps a big apple pie. But then we got there and there weren't any apples, no apple juice, and no one offered me any pie. That should have been my first clue that I shouldn't ride the rides at this place. But I went against my better judgment and said, "Sure I'll go on the merry-go-round."


Well, it all started out okay as you can see in the picture above where I am looking fairly happy.
But then, as I was going round and round in circles I started noticing that some of those guys who work here at the festival didn't look too good. I mean, they had colored these pictures all over their arms (apparently called tattoos), they were smoking cigarettes, and their mom's must not have done a very good job of brushing their teeth because many of them had rotted or fallen out! If they can't even brush their teeth or keep their colors on the paper how are they gonna be putting carnival rides together? So here I am mulling this over:


And getting a bit more concerned about my safety:


And finally I say "Forget it Dad, get me off of here right this minute!"


Thankfully I made it home without incident or injury and to top it all off, my Mommy made me a fresh apple pie when we got home!
